Aloha! Sat Dharam Kaur and Sach Dharam Singh are KRI certified Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Teachers surfing the science of yoga on the Big Island of Hawai'i. This couple combines their forces to offer students what they have learned about cultivating inner strength through this technology of Self awareness and Self love. They teach classes separately and collaboratively. In the future, they will provide sound healing relaxations at the end of class and workshops for deeper study available to all levels of practitioner. After experiencing the healing effects of Yin, Restorative and Hatha yoga, Sat Dharam Kaur wanted to delve deeper into yogic philosophy and to study asana (postures) with the focus of eventually training in Yoga Therapy. She first earned Hatha yoga certification in Rishikesh, India in 2014. This inspired her partner Sach Dharam to join a teacher training program with a teacher he remembered and admired from high school. Having enjoyed Kundalini in the past, she agreed to join Sach for class at his teacher's studio and was instantly hooked. She unexpectedly became a regular Kundalini practitioner at HariNYC with Hari Kaur. Immediately she felt the strengthening power of this practice and noticed how the techniques worked quickly to improve one's state of being.  In 2015, Sat Dharam chose to further her yoga training by completing Kundalini Teacher Training in the Catskills of New York State with the Masterful lead trainer Hari Kaur Khalsa and professional trainer Dharam Singh at Gitanjali Kaur's Sat Nam Spa center. Sat Dharam feels grateful and excited to share her love for this practice and its inherent aloha spirit! 

Sach Dharam Singh began studying Kundalini when he was 17 years old with the masterful teacher Hari Kaur Khalsa. Almost immediatly he noticed he would leave class calm, energized and smiling. It became easy to focus on school work and his grades began to drastically improve. During his 20's he attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and concentrated on developing himself as a new media artist and musician in New York City. While in New York City he began a daily practice of Transcendental Meditation. He began to notice an improvement in his creative workflow and wanted to be able to teach this benefit of meditation. Although he continues with a daily practice of Transcendental Meditation, he wanted to have a broader palette to teach from and he felt Kundalini offered such a spectrum. So he began a teacher training with his original teacher Hari Kaur at her studio, HariNYC. His intention was to develop a daily Kundalini practice and learn how to teach yoga and meditation for creativity but he emerged from the program with so much more. During his time at HariNYC he also began to study a Korean Daoist form of Qi Gong, known as Dong Han Qi Gong or Kobang, with the gifted healer Chris Chen. Currently Sach Dharam is also studying Daoist Medical Qigong at the International Medical Qigong College in Bradyville, Tennessee under the guidence of Doctor Bernard Shannon.  With his horizon expanded it has become clear that what he was learning to teach is how to maintain a harmonious existence between the internal and external experience of being human.

About Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga and Meditation was brought to the western hemisphere by Yogi Bhajan in 1968. Kundalini Yoga is often refered to as " yoga for the Aquarian Age". In ancient times yoga was taught in secrecy. It's practitioners lead a ascetic lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of civilization. Kundalini has been designed over time to aid in dealing with the trials and tribulations of life in the current age. In a time period when the perceived speed of information seems to be increasing exponentially, the ability to calmly turn ones focus inward with Kundalini Yoga and Meditation can bring about an often much needed existential clarity and grace. Kundalini Yoga and Meditation is considered, by its practitioners, to be a technology, a collection of practical tools that can be used to aid us in the challenges of and enhance our learning experiences in daily life. Practical tools such as meditation and breathing techniques ( pranayama ) calm and strengthen our nervous systems so that we feel energized at work, relaxed at home and courageous in dealing with the trials we encounter. The inner strength we cultivate in practice gives us what we need to be true to ourselves, to express the divine and powerful beings we are at the core in a way that naturally weaves into being apart of a community and living a modern lifestyle.
